The following convicted sex offenders recently have registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Russell Sweet

Age: 33.

Description: 6-feet-3 and 280 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient, Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2007 of four counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes in King County for sexually assaulting a girl under 12. Convicted in 2009 of three counts of second-degree assault in Pierce County for sexually assaulting another young girl.

Sex offender treatment: He did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Daniel Davis

Age: 37.

Description: 6-feet-5 and 280 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 5200 block of South Warner Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2001 of first-degree child rape in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

Sex offender treatment: It is unknown if he participated in a treatment program while at the state’s Special Commitment Center.

Andrew Bowman

Age: 22.

Description: 5-feet-6 and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 800 block of South Cushman Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2010 of first-degree child rape in Coryell County, Texas, for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old boy. Convicted in 2011 of two counts of first-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a boy aged 4 or 5.

Sex offender treatment: He participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

John Mathers

Age: 67.

Description: 5-feet-11 and 186 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient, Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1973 of indecent liberties and second-degree assault for chasing down a 12-year-old girl on the sidewalk, threatening to stab her to death and sexually assaulting her. He also abducted an 11-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister as they delivered newspapers and sexually assaulted them. Convicted in 1980 of second-degree escape after fleeing to California, where he assaulted and stabbed a woman. Convicted in 1981 of second-degree rape for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman he met on the bus and threatening her with a knife and screwdriver. Mathers also escaped from a state Reformatory Farm in Snohomish County and was convicted of first-degree escape.

Sex offender treatment: It is unknown if he participated in a treatment program while at the state’s Special Corrections Center.
